Our Purpose

The New Mexico Health Care Association / New Mexico Center for Assisted Living (NMHCA / NMCAL) is a professional trade association for facility-based long-term care providers.

  • Assisted Living Facilities
  • Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (In New Mexico these facilities are called Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities)
  • Independent Living Facilities

Our Mission

Our mission is to support our members, and to promote individual quality of life for the people they serve through:

  • Gaining public recognition of services available by long-term care providers
  • Professional development and education of long-term care providers
  • Representing our members in legislative and regulatory areas
  • Support and implementation of best practices and consistent quality standards
