The New Mexico Health Care Association has created an inventory of local, state, and federal recognitions and awards that New Mexico facilities and/or staff may be eligible to receive. The information below includes information such as nomination/application deadline, eligbility criteria, and a link to apply.
In addition to this inventory, NMHCA members will receive notices in our member-only weekly Bulletin about upcoming nomination deadlines.

Family Friendly Business Award

Eligibility Requirements
The New Mexico Family Friendly Business Award was formed by the Task Force on Work Life Balance to develop an awards program that would both recognize New Mexico employers and businesses that offer family friendly employee benefits and promote increasing the number of businesses with family centered policies and workforce access to them. The purpose of the award is to recognize and support businesses that adopt and implement family friendly policies for their employees.
The Family Friendly Business Award focuses on four different categories: paid leave, health support, work schedules, and economic support.
Gold (Top Level Award)
Recipients meet at least one family friendly policy in each of the four categories and receive the family friendly business award seal and a certificate of recognition that they can utilize in their business materials and promotion.
Silver (On the Pathway)
Recipients meet any three family friendly policies and receive the family friendly business “on the pathway” seal and a certificate of recognition that they can utilize in their business materials and promotion.
Bronze (Interested)
Recipients meet two or less family friendly policies and receive information and educational materials so they can continue on the path to a more family friendly business.
2019 New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards

Eligibility Requirements
The New Mexico Excellence Awards recognize nurses in 20 professional categories including the prestigious Distinguished Nurse of the Year Award. The recipient in each category will be a nurse, LPN or RN, whose leadership and contributions have made a significant impact in his/her community and to the profession of nursing.
There is a Long-Term Care/Rehabilitation category, which includes nursing homes, gerontology, services for disabilities, rehabilitative services, subacute/transitional units.
The fee for each nomination is $75. If paying by check, please make payable to NMCNE. This fee covers the nominee's complimentary dinner during the New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards Celebration.
Candidate must have been a resident of New Mexico for a minimum of one year from August 2017 to August 2018 to qualify as a nominee. (Consideration will be given to a nurse who is not a NM resident if that nurse is primarily employed in New Mexico. Contact us at 505-889-4518 with questions.)

Albuquerque Business First is seeking the most outstanding wellness programs created and implemented by companies in our state for our 2019 New Mexico’s Healthiest Employers awards.
New Mexico's Healthiest Employers will spotlight companies in our state that go above and beyond to create a workplace environment that promotes health and wellness. This is your organization’s opportunity to be recognized for creating a healthy environment for employees. The winners will be determined by a survey of participating employers' wellness practices conducted by Healthiest Employers, a company with expertise in workplace wellness surveys. The survey is of employers, with an optional employee survey component. Previous winners and finalists are eligible to participate.
Honorees will be celebrated at an awards event and featured in a special publication from Albuquerque Business First in 2019.

Eligibility Requirements
Albuquerque Business First is looking for the state’s most awesome young leaders — those who are taking action early in their careers and will continue to influence New Mexico in the future.
Nominees must be under the age of 40 as of the 2019 publication date currently scheduled for 5/3/19, but subject to change. Previous 40 Under Forty honorees are not eligible.
Nominees will be evaluated on their professional achievement, contributions to the community and leadership skills. A panel of leaders in the business community will evaluate the nominees.
