Assisting With Medications...The Right Way

New Mexico state regulations require that “all staff assisting with medications shall have successfully completed an approved assistance with medication training program or be licensed by the State of New Mexico to administer medication. Assisting with Medications...The Right Way is recognized as an approved assistance with medication training program by the New Mexico Department of Health. The Department of Health and the Board of Nursing were involved in the development and production of the video and workbook from beginning to end to ensure content accuracy.

NMHCA / NMCAL offers facilities a choice in testing options! You are able to test your staff in the traditional manner with paper the test or you can use our on-line testing!

On-Line Testing: Facilities choosing to utilize the on-line testing program can purchase the training program for $50 - a substantial savings over the regular price. All testing must be completed on-line.

Assisting With Medications

Traditional Paper Testing - Facilities choosing not to utilize the on-line testing may purchase the program at the regular price. Workbooks and tests must be ordered for each student and submitted to NMHCA / NMHCAL for processing.

Assisted Living Administrator Course

The NMHCA / NMCAL Assisted Living Administrator Certificate Program is a knowledge-based independent study program focusing on the five (5) domains of practice with a 6th module covering New Mexico Assisted Living and Criminal History Screening regulations. The Program produces a well rounded candidate who has the best chances of success in this challenging field.

Staff Training: A Webinar Series

NMHCA / NMCAL offers webinars to aid facilities in training their staff members. Our webinars feature experts in the subject areas so that you can be assured your staff has the most current and accurate information.

Webinar Training Topics:

These webinars will be offered live periodically when updates are necessary. Facilities can purchase recorded versions of the webinars for continued staff training. Certificates are issued by NMHCA / NMCAL upon completion of post test and verification.
