NMHCA / NMCAL takes a very active role on behalf of all its members to represent and protect the interests of long term care providers and the residents and family members they serve. As a professional trade association, we lobby our state elected officials and our US Congressional delegation who represent New Mexico in Washington, D.C. We look at and engage in all matters that affect New Mexico long term care, whether they pertain to new or existing laws, state and federal regulations or policy decisions being made at the state or federal level.
In addition, NMHCA / NMCAL has established personal professional relationships, and is always working to develop new ties with Governor-appointed Cabinets Secretaries, Legislative staff, like-minded advocacy groups, and individual supporters in order to educate, promote and protect the interests of all of our members.
We also work with our national counterparts the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) to strengthen our voice and broaden our political messaging and base.
Government affairs activities are a large part of what we do – and we ask all our members, as well as any individual who wants to be "a voice for long term care", to join our GRASSROOTS efforts. Every voice makes a difference! We would like to call upon you to send occasional phone call. PLEASE SIGN UP NOW to be a voice for long term care!
